`Stop aid. That’s the only way to push them (Ukraine) to sit at the negotiating table,` Donald Trump Jr., son of former President Trump, said in his opinion on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

According to Mr. Trump’s eldest son, the US’s military and economic aid of up to 111 billion USD to Ukraine since February 2022 has made the situation more complicated.

Donald Trump Jr.

`Just think, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will no longer have a chance, if we stop providing aid, so he will agree to sit at the negotiating table, Russia and Ukraine will come to an agreement to end the conflict.`

During the re-election campaign, Mr. Trump repeatedly stated that he could end the Russia-Ukraine war within 24 hours if re-elected.

The US has been the country providing the most aid to Ukraine since Russia launched a `special military campaign` in February 2022.

Western allies, especially Britain, continue to commit large-scale military aid to Ukraine.

During his visit to Ukraine last week, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced a new aid package of more than $3 billion for Ukraine.

Britain and Ukraine also signed a bilateral Security Cooperation Agreement valid for 10 years and can be extended if necessary.

However, according to observers, if Washington’s aid freeze persists, it will significantly affect Ukraine’s combat capabilities.

Ukraine has so far rejected the idea of freezing the conflict with Russia.

On the Russian side, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Moscow is always open to negotiations with Ukraine and the West.

Responding to comments by a Swiss diplomat on the sidelines of the Davos Conference last weekend that Russia needed to participate in peace discussions in Ukraine, Ms. Zakharova said, if the West wants to negotiate, first of all, they need

`If they want to find a way out of the Ukraine crisis, they (the West) should stop supplying weapons to Ukraine, stop imposing sanctions against Russia, stop making anti-Russian statements,` Ms. Zakharova said.
