The reason Detective Conan caused a fever in Vietnamese theaters

As scheduled again, the Detective Conan franchise (Vietnamese title: Detective Conan) – also known as Conan Movie – returns to Vietnamese theaters with episode 26 titled Black Iron Submarine.

The work unexpectedly surpassed the blockbuster Mission Impossible – Karma Part 1 to climb to the top of the weekend revenue chart of Box Office Vietnam – an independent box office monitoring unit.

This shows that the attraction from Japanese animation brands is not small.

New case of the famous detective

Adapted from the famous manga of the same name by artist Aoyama Gosho, the content of the Conan Movie series is not much different from the original.

Once, Shinichi was tricked by an organization called Black Shirt into drinking poison and turning into a 7-year-old child.

Conan Movie 26 has completely independent content from the previous parts.

Although unrelated, Conan still received an invitation to go to the island with a group of close friends.

Too little detective quality

By episode 26, Japanese filmmakers have almost grasped the key factor to attract audiences to theaters.

One of the factors that make the Conan Movie series successful is its difficult cases, challenging anyone to find the culprit.

But entering the 26th episode, the crew seems to have exhausted themselves in creating cases.

The script is the major minus point of the work.

Many details in the movie are simple, not too difficult to guess.

In return, the project still creates sympathy with well-thought-out images and sound.

However, Conan fans will certainly be disappointed with a script full of holes and absurd details.

Continue to win in the Vietnamese market

Besides the robot cat Doraemon, Detective Conan is a famous Japanese animated series that has captured the hearts of Vietnamese audiences.

In fact, Conan Movie 26 has been released in the Japanese market since April. At home, the film achieved very good results with more than 96 million USD in revenue from the domestic box office, according to Box Office Mojo statistics.

Released to Vietnamese theaters late after 3 months, the film is still causing a stir because it doesn’t have many competitors.

On Box Office Vietnam’s rankings, behind Conan Movie 26 are the following works: Mission Impossible – Karma part 1, Insidious 5: Undetermined Red Door, Land of the Elements.

Overall, Conan Movie 26 is not a very excellent work.
